Regulat Skin Repair – my Glacier Companion

In the past I have published a couple of reviews on products by Dr. Niedermaier, the company for luxury organic skin care. And here is another little natural skin care spray that I would love to present.

I was recently fortunate enough to spend a few days in the Swiss Mountains at a pretty high altitude. We were blessed with lovely sunshine and able to go on a variety of beautiful hikes.

One of out trips up the mountain took us to the Bernina Glacier – just stunning!

Although sad to see how the glacier is dwindling and melting away over the years…

As always when doing product reviews, I take the products under a personal stress test. So I brought the Regulat Skin Repair along to see how it would help my skin, which was exposed to fierce glacier sun and wind for almost a full day.

Packaging and Look

The Regulat Skin Repair comes in a 50 ml plastic pump spray bottle, which is fully recyclable. I am very happy that no aerosol is used! The packaging is light, the bottle small, and hence it fit perfectly well in my little backpack.

The label with a red cross reminds of a medical product, which is ok for me, as the skin repair is considered a ‘fast repair skin aid’ more than a beauty product. The manufacturer recommends the product also supporting

  • sunburn
  • foot hygiene
  • insect bites
  • tick control

Ingredients

Like most of the Dr. Niedermaier products, the skin repair also contains the Regulatessence, also named ‘the health and beauty code’. The manufacturing process includes a patented cascade fermentation.

This made-in-Germany product is good for 6 months of use after opening.

Excellent rating of the analysis of ingredients, all natural and no harmful ingredients at all.

Use and Smell

The skin repair can be directly sprayed onto the skin, even in the face. The smell reminded me of the Regulat Beauty Drink, a mix between a fermented fruit juice and vinegar. Luckily the scent is not strong and does not linger, so I can very well do with that.

As said above, we spent a full sunny day by the glacier. I had applied a natural sun protection beforehand and my facial skin did not burn at all, however I could still feel a little strain afterwards.  As the manufacturer recommends to ‘spray on as required’, I used the skin repair 3 times the same day, once when I got out of the sun, once in the evening and once more before going to bed.

Result? Very happy! I did not see any redness of my skin the next day, no tension, and I did not have any of the enlarged pores that sometimes come with sun exposure.

This is a beautiful little spray that will have a fix space in my first aid kit from now on!
